Well, this just in, courtesy of nj.com: The Obamas’ First Puppy will be a Portuguese Water Dog.
The Biden family has the same breed.
Personally, I can’t wait for the photo ops to start.

The Bidens have a new German Shepherd puppy and big Labradoodle which is probably smarter than he is. Ted Kennedy has three Portuguese Water Dogs.
