Book Fair!
My plans to be a diligent journalist today have been summarily tossed, in favor of the Housing Works Book Fair.
Used books, used CDs, fundraising for a good cause, and delicious ice cream!
Really– this day, no, this weekend, could not get any better. Last night was also wordy and wonderful. Turns out, a longtime friend is both an excellent cook and a formiddable Scrabble opponent. So I got a fantastically tasty dinner, hilarious conversation. And a few Scrabble defeats. The gap between our scores grew smaller, I can say that proudly. Must practice.
Must also think of some good recipes to try on my Scrabble friend. I am sure that delicious food can both inspire Scrabble glory and cloud strategic thinking. Also looking for- wine that has some kind of Scrabble pun in its name. or a Q and no U or something.
Meanwhile! Sunblock! Coffee! Book fair!
