Files of Very Old Newspaper! So cool!

I got to take a look at the Daily News archives today! A room full of files of newspaper clippings, organized and cross-indexed by subject. Bound volumes of entire newspapers, going back to the 1920s! Photographs!!!
Glass negatives of really old photos! I had never seen one of those before, and I might not have known they existed.
I might have stuck my nose in a city guide from the 1920s because old books smell good. I might also have gotten giddy at the sight of the Daily News that was printed the day I was born. Weirdly– the paper was much thicker then, when print was the only medium for ad sales.
I’m idly starting to wonder about writing a book about the Daily News.
Maybe I should finish my grad school in library science first.
