What I have checked out from the library 1/14
All the books I had on hold came in at once. Again. Just when I’m about to dig into the books that need reviewing for the Star-Ledger for Valentine’s Day.
I will be doing nothing this weekend except reading. And watching football. I do not think this is a bad thing.
Library books:
Bloodline- Sidney Sheldon. Because it was number 1 the week I was born. Here is the website where I discovered that.
An Apple A Day: The myths, misconceptions and truths about the foods we eat. Joe Schwarcz, PhD. Because I like good science writing. Hoping this will not be like Michael Pollan, full of poison and doom.
Lord of Misrule– Jaimy Gordon. Because I read about it on WVFC.
When Organizing Isn’t Enough, Shed Your Stuff, Change Your Life.– Julie Morgenstern. Because I don’t remember what color my desk is.
My Own Two Feet- Beverly Cleary. Her autobiography, continuing where A Girl From Yamhill left off.
Cooking for Mr. Latte. Amanda Hesser. On Aunt Ruthanne’s recommendation. I will probably wind up buying myself a copy of this at some point, but wanted to give it a look first.
And I have five Valentine books from the Ledger to read and review.
I have tea, a gray day, a comfy chair.
Life is good.
For every book I read in 2011, I’m donating $1 to the New York Public Library.
That gimmick website is brill. I got Franny and Zooey and To Kill a Mockingburd!
