Accidental Artist, Purposeful Science Writer
March 21, 2011
Tonight, I’m going to a book launch party for Amy Ellis Nutt. She’s an excellent science writer. I started reading her when my dad was working at the Newark Star-Ledger.
Her book, Shadows Bright As Glass, builds on a story she wrote for the Star-Ledger, about Jon Sarkin, the Accidental Artist.
I’m looking forward to reading the book. I know it’s going to be good, going to get inside his story with both emotional depth and dignity. Amy Ellis Nutt has a knack for explaining science and keeping it grounded in the narrative about people.
Yeah… I’m a little in awe of her, because I’ve read her more than I’ve talked to her. Even though she’s friendly and approachable, I’m in awe.
