The Book Thief

March 30, 2011

I have only read half a page of The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak and I can tell that I will want to own it instead of return it to the library.

I do, however try to enjoy every color I see– the whole spectrum. A billion or so flavors, none of them quite the same, and a sky to slowly suck on.

Dad and I laugh when this happens, because we’ve both been trying to use libraries more, rather than spending money on books. I am proud to say I don’t spend much money on books, or buy them very often. But I can just tell… this is going to be one of those books. I want to linger over it line by line.

For every book I read in 2011, I’m donating $1 to the New York Public Library.
