Booking Through Thursday- slightly guilt-inducing

April 7, 2011

Today’s Booking Through Thursday makes me wish I were a better person…. Or at least a better-organized one.

So … the books that you own (however many there may be) … do you display them proudly right there in plain sight for all the world to see? (At least the world that comes into your living room.)

Or do you keep them tucked away in your office or bedroom or library or closet or someplace less “public?”

Well… first of all, whoever thought of this question must have been thinking about a house, or at least one of those giant movie apartments that belong to some woman with a fabulous job. Because everyone I know has books and bookshelves in any available room. Sometimes even the bathroom or kitchen, too.

One of the fun parts of going over to someone’s house is checking out their bookshelves, finding new and familiar titles.

And here’s where it gets guilt-inducing. I wish my bookshelves were better organized, or at least stacked neatly. As it is, things are a bit akimbo- stacked haphazardly. It doesn’t look nice and neat, and more to the point, not all the books are positioned so you can read the spines.  Eeesh. Never mind the other miscellaneous clutter. Much to my chagrin.

These bookshelves are due a massive straightening and some TLC.

Maybe after Dewey’s Read-a-Thon.

The one thing I find really annoying about some of my stacks is that I can’t read the spines – I have no idea why I place them like that I should really turn them around.

It’s hard to stay organized ,when there’s volume.

stop and see mine and my giveaways.

That sounds suspiciously like my own bookshelves. LOL

So, do not feel bad at all. 😀

(And I thought I was the only one who loved to snoop around other people’s bookshelves.)
