Read-a-Thon Mini-Challenge Hour 15

April 9, 2011

Interesting question from one of my Read-a-Thon compatriots:

Helena at Vamps R Us asks:

If you could pick a theme song for any of the main characters for the books you’ve read, what would it be?

Been listening to classical music on Dad’s computer almost all day…. so hard to pick something else, even though the books I’ve read are not classical music-ish books.

1. The Bonus, set after World War I, needs some kind of big band jazz, though I don’t know specific artists.

2. Thief of Hearts- Christopher Golden. “Hold Me, Kiss Me, Thrill Me Kill Me”- by U2. Because it’s stalkerish and creepy and it came out when I was in college.

3. Fish Out of Agua- Michele Carlo. Huh… a tough one. Rock the Casbah, by the Clash.

4. Shadows Bright as Glass, the story of artist Jon Sarkin, written by Amy Ellis Nutt. Jon Sarkin needs something by Ry Cooder, a twangy electric guitar. Or cello. Something in that range. Because I’ve seen his actual paintings, and that is what they sound like. The book itself is more like a concert piano sort of book, somewhere between Leahy (Celtic piano) and Billy Joel.
