Wednesday 5: Guest Post by Snifflykitty

June 8, 2011
Presenting a Guest Wednesday 5.
I met Snifflykitty at the Book Expo and had a terrific time talking books, geekery and technology. I asked (pestered, begged) her to write me a Wednesday 5 list, and she came up with a terrifically fun one that gave me interesting publishers to investigate! In sum, Snifflykitty is excellent, and so is her list.
5 Small Presses That I Dig, a list by Snifflykitty

Subterranean Press
I love them because they publish gorgeous fan editions of books and limited editions novellas from some amazing authors including John Scalzi, Kelley Armstrong, and Patrick Rothfuss.

Tachyon Publications
I love them because I have really liked every book I have read which was published by them. Their books are absolutely quality adult fantasy and science-fiction.

Shadow Mountain Press
I love them because even though I have yet to read, all of the synopses sound exciting, and their publicist, Leigh, is very nice and excited to work with book bloggers. I am planning on reading all their titles that I can get my hands on.
Angry Robot Books
I love them because they publish quirky science-fiction and fantasy, and honestly, because they call people who review for them, their robot army.
Spencer Hill Press
I love them because of how serious they are about making the publishing experience great for their authors and of course because Kate (the co-founder) is so personable (read really nice!).
