Booking Through Thursday

You’ve just had a long, hard, exhausting day, and all you want to do is curl up with something light, fun, easy, fluffy, distracting, and entertaining.

What book do you pick up?

Whatever it is, a fast, engrossing read. Recently, I’ve been having fun with Terry Pratchett. I come to Terry Pratchett years after several of my friends recommended him. In college, it seemed like all of my friends had a set of Discworld books. And I never quite got into them. But I picked up Feet of Clay because the library had it as an e-book, and just finished Guards! Guards!  I giggled my way through both of them.

When I’m stressed about work or life, it’s not the right-after-work reading that matters most… it’s the book I pick up when I can’t sleep. And that’s usually going to be a re-read. The Westing Game is a go-to, or Tam Lin, or something along those lines. Something I’ve read dozens of times.

But for sheer goofy fun, lately Terry Pratchett is hitting the spot.

I haven’t read any Terry Pratchett but have always heard really good things about his books. I might have to try one out!
