I Like San Diego
If you’re going to be in an unfamiliar city, jet-lagged, for a conference, San Diego is, so far, a good choice. I’m not known for a sense of direction, but I’m finding the directions easy to deal with. Many thanks to Angie, a dear family friend who came and collected me at the airport and helped me get oriented.
I can see the convention center from my hotel, and vice versa, and go between the two in a matter of minutes. Helpful for orienting myself or quick catnaps.
I’m extremely happy with my hotel room- cozy, with a bed I wish I could pack up and take back home with me, and excellent coffee available downstairs. Definitely worthy of what my mother terms the “Happy Hotel Dance.” Also, a good number of fellow librarians staying here, which is handy for roving to and fro in a nice pack.
And the letters for street names have a certain appeal, to librarians.
I was expecting sunnier, but I gather so were the locals.
