2015: A Year of Transitions
I’ve been reading people’s blog posts and social media posts, looking back at 2015, and forward to this new year. I thought about writing a post of my own today, because 2015 was an amazing year of mind-blowing transitions. None of which I could have imagined and seen coming.
But then, I realized: I already wrote something exactly like that, for Bridge to Excellence, the SLA New York chapter online journal.
The short version: In the space of a year, I wrote a book, and in the process connected with generous and knowledgeable librarians all over the country, got an academic library job, and then another one. Months zoomed by. I’ve learned a lot, and gotten to know some great people.
And I’m a librarian. And a published author.
It’s still a little mind-boggling.
Wonder how 2016 will boggle my mind.
